Freese and Nichols is currently searching for an experienced CAD Designer to support our stormwater team in our Florida Office. As part of the team, you will utilize FNI CAD software, standards, and equipment to prepare and revise technical plans and specifications municipal stormwater and roadway infrastructure related projects. You'll interpret sketches and markups by design task lead or client to efficiently incorporate updates and revisions to design plans while ensuring high quality of deliverables. Responsibilities include: Preparing detailed design and layout drawings for complex and original designs that require the application of theoretical and practical engineering knowledge. Applying client design criteria and standards to produce accurate technical plans and specifications with minimal input from engineers. Performing quality control reviews to verify that comments from the design lead and client are incorporated into final deliverables. Collaborating with engineers, architects, clients, vendors, and other disciplines to support seamless project delivery. Contributing to process improvements and ensuring models are correctly set up, referenced, and maintained according to FNI standards. Developing and implementing new processes as required to ensure consistent quality. Providing guidance and mentorship to BIM/CAD Technicians and Designers, ensuring project deliverables meet professional quality and consistency standards. Participating in early project planning by offering conceptual input and technical expertise. Exercising independent judgment on project-level decisions and maintaining accountability for quality results with minimal supervision. Engaging in Continuous Improvement by contributing ideas to improve model set up, standards, templates, and processes.   • 8+ years of practice-level experience with a broad base in engineering design and technical engineering support.
  • Expertise in computer operation and in BIM/CAD software.
  • Proven ability to learn, adapt, and problem solve to produce accurate and quality deliverables.
  • Broad range of work, sometimes complex and non routine, in variety of environments.
  • Recommend design changes for improvements of the project.
  • Estimate and oversee BIM/CAD workload.
  • In-depth knowledge of multiple technical products.
  • Able to convert written and verbal information into drawings.
  • Produce concise well written materials and understand project scopes.
  • Create and conduct presentations and training.
  • Software knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
