About The Position

Poughkeepsie, NY office of Modjeski and Masters is seeking Civil Bridge Design Engineers with at least 4 years of related bridge design experience As a Bridge Design Engineer with Modjeski and Masters, you will work on a variety of challenging and rewarding bridge engineering projects for a myriad of transportation clients. As a member of our team, you'll be performing engineering tasks under the careful supervision of established and respected professionals. Services include fixed and movable bridge design, inspection and rehabilitation, and all facets of life-cycle maintenance, research, and code development.

Requirements

• At minimum a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University
• Minimum of 4 years related Bridge Design experience
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Ideal Candidates will be within 6 months of obtaining a valid PE license

Responsibilities

• Review and check standard structural design calculations.
• Perform structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using analysis software.
• Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans.
• Provide information for design reports.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field inspections and construction service assignments.
• Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
• Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
• Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
• Review and check drawings.
• Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.
• Able to learn and correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc.
