Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering or closely related field.
  • Experience managing less complex projects, such as water, sewer, and storm drain pipelines.
  • Requires 6+ years' experience in water treatment and wastewater treatment, engineering analysis, and design of water distributions and wastewater collection facilities.
  • Professional Registration as Civil Engineer in California required.
  • Familiarity and understanding of wastewater treatment, fluid mechanics, and hydraulics.
  • Central and Southern California professional Water Resources network is strongly desired.
  • Demonstrates experience pertaining to water resource projects such as hydraulic modeling and distribution and collection system design.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and other design software.
  • Experience with diverse hydraulic modeling software platforms such as Innovyze, BioWin, and Bentley a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supports principal design engineering and construction management team members on a variety of complex tasks on a wide range of challenging water resources projects.
  • Develops and prepares calculations, specifications, detailed design drawings, reports, construction submittals reviews, model setup and other technical deliverables for various water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Works closely with team members to gain understanding of project requirements and tasks as well as office procedures, policies, and guidelines.
  • Manages less-complex projects from start through construction management.
  • Assists Project Managers in the management of complex projects and prioritizes tasks to ensure that project needs, deadlines, and budgets are being met timely and effectively.
  • Constructively contributes to a team environment with an active desire to learn and collaborate.
  • Informs project manager of work progress and of any problems and questions.
  • Leads by example and may coach less experienced colleagues in technical procedures within the company and encourages professional growth in others.
