The mission of the Professional Standards Division’s Civilian Compliant Statistical Analysis Unit is to analyze statistical data from the CCRB and internal discipline databases, and perform proactive trend analysis at the individual, command, and Citywide levels with support from the Risk Analytics Unit to identify potential areas for migration. The Risk Analytics Unit (RAU) seeks a City Research Scientist, II. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Assist in maintaining Division databases and access other Department databases to provide the Department with data relevant to compliance research metrics through the use of several analytical programs and languages (eg. Cognos, Python and SQL). -Maintain data dictionaries and other relevant documentation related to data maintained and created by the Civilian Complaint Statistical Analysis Unit. -Conduct routine data integrity checks on datasets. Identify and report issues and discrepancies in generated data. -Conduct data maintenance and design general project automation tools to be used by staff. -Create and maintain data visualization tools such as Power Bi dashboards.
