The City of Webster's Community Development Department has an immediate opportunity for an experienced City Planner who is service-oriented, a strategic thinker, and a problem solver. The City Planner position is an integral member of the community development team that interacts with co-workers across departments and throughout the community. This position provides professional planning and technical services related to planning, zoning, subdivision regulations, and general development. Key functions include coordinating functions of the Planning and Zoning Commission and Zoning Board of Adjustments and making urban and regional planning presentations to boards and commissions and to the City Council. Other duties include responding to citizens' inquiries, maintaining industry knowledge and certifications, contributing to city-wide projects, and routinely and professionally interfacing with city employees, other departments, realtors, developers, builders, engineers, and architects. This position provides backup assistance with civic center and park pavilion rentals occasionally in the absence of the coordinator.
