About The Position

The City Hall Receptionist is responsible for providing general receptionist duties at City Hall, ensuring effective communication and assistance to visitors and callers. This part-time role involves various administrative tasks, including cash handling, mail sorting, and general office functions, while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook Microsoft applications.
  • Experience with cash receipting, recording deposits, or balancing a cash drawer.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming telephone calls and provide information or route calls as required.
  • Receive visitors and provide assistance or direct them to appropriate areas and/or staff.
  • Perform daily cash receipting and balance cash drawer.
  • Mail accounts payable checks and sort postal mail daily.
  • Record and deposit money collected and input as appropriate.
  • Assist with permitting and licensing as appropriate.
  • Handle filing, mailing, copying, faxing, scanning, data entry, and other general office functions.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.
