About The Position
The City Forester is responsible for overseeing the city's forestry operations including both forestry related administrative and field work. This position involves managing city forestry related programs and code, forestry staff and the implementation of the city's forestry management plan, involving planting, care, and maintenance of a variety of both young and mature trees and will maintain the city's inventory of trees and tree care records. The ideal candidate is a leader, has a passion for forestry work, is organized, and can collaborate to implement both short- and long-term forestry goals in an urban environment. This position will lead and manage programs, while still having the opportunity to work in the field alongside staff as a regular part of the job. Experience working with small municipalities desired.
