The City Attorney’s Office is committed to ensuring that our community is protected by pursuing vigorous and fair prosecution of criminal offenders by seeking justice, reducing recidivism of criminal offenders, and advocating for the rights of all victims while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Guided by the city’s shared values of integrity, respect, collaboration and professionalism, the Prosecution Division of the City’s Attorney’s office handles all misdemeanor violations of the municipal code that occur within the city of Cheyenne. The Chief City Prosecutor prosecutes violations of the municipal code and is responsible for the daily supervision of City Prosecutors, for training, developing, and mentoring new and experienced prosecutors in the practice of misdemeanor prosecution for the City, assisting in the supervision of support staff, and performing professional legal work in preparing and prosecuting cases. The Chief City Prosecutor also assists the City Attorney in providing legal advice to the Cheyenne Police Department and with other matters as assigned.
