The oil extraction operator works under the direction of the supervisor and foreman and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the oil separators and oil polishers designed to safely recover orange, lemon and grapefruit oils.

  • Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift.
  • Monitors, Extractors, Frit augers, Oil Finishers, Oil Emulsion pump and enzymes pump.
  • Operates, Oil Separators and Oil Polishers in oil mill.
  • Operates water flow to the JBT extractors for optimum oil recovery.
  • Responsible for accurately filling out the “Raw Cream Processing Parameters” sheet.
  • Responsible for always maintaining the highest quality oil.
  • Operates holding tanks for cold press (CP) oil prior to drumming.
  • Responsible for drumming oil drums consistently and promptly to avoid contaminating clean oil with dirty oil
  • Responsible for optimum oil yields and oil recovery daily.
  • Responsible for sampling each batch for laboratory analysis
  • Responsible for submitting oil separators’ efficiency samples daily.
  • Responsible for submitting oil polishers’ sample to check for oil polisher losses daily.
  • Safely perform periodic CIPs of all Oil Separators and Oil Polishers.
  • Ensure that Oil Separators are discharging at timer intervals.
  • Safely perform periodic CIPs of all the oil recovery system, extractors, oil finishers, tanks and lines.
  • Responsible for the optimum performance of the Oil Stripper Operation and CIP.
  • Responsible for drumming out the Oil Phase essence from the Oil Stripper.
  • As needed dispense hazardous waste materials into designated containers.
  • Follow all safety rules and practices to include the wearing of all essential personal protective equipment.
  • Follow all personal hygiene, safety rules and GMPs practices.
  • Act professionally towards coworkers, customers, vendors and other plant visitors.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance, consistent punctuality and a positive attitude always.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or relief foreman.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Basic computer skills such as the ability to read a computer touch screen.
  • Ability to read and understand DSR for oil blends.
