About The Position

The Citadel Chef Canada (Bilingual, French/English) role is key to improving the food experience in the foodservice industry through value-added creativity and long-term service. This position inspires teams and provides innovative culinary solutions to customers, supporting the CD Team with culinary expertise for customer presentations and new menu ideations. The role acts as a savory expert, leading culinary content development for specific projects in North America, and accelerating Savory/Scratch Cooking growth initiatives to enhance UFS brands. This position involves close collaboration with Marketing, CD Ops, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to coordinate efforts and resources. The Citadel Chef is also responsible for translating French to English and vice versa for selling stories, packaging, and recipes, and must understand both metric and imperial systems. The position can be based in Montreal or Quebec.

Requirements

  • 3+ years culinary experience in the Foodservice Industry (Corporate or Kitchen).
  • Culinary Arts Degree.
  • Bilingual French/English, mastering metric and imperial systems.
  • Solution selling mindset with a creative ability to solve customer needs.
  • Understanding of the Broadline Distribution Network.
  • Ability to collaborate with sales teams to both hunt and farm for business in the market.
  • Excellent communication and follow up skills.
  • Accountability to deliver KPIs, Goals as a team.
  • Business Planning and Implementation.
  • Consumer/Operator Understanding & Passion.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Accomplished chef, natural leader, and proactive.
  • Ability to collaborate, connect teams, and navigate complex environments.
  • Customer service orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years working in your respective Citadel (an asset depending on your region).
  • Experience selling branded food categories a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CD Team with culinary expertise during customer presentations and new menu ideations.
  • Act as a savory expert and lead culinary content development for projects in North America.
  • Contribute to Savory/Scratch Cooking growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, CD Ops, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Ensure FR/EN translation for selling stories, packaging, and recipes.
  • Coordinate Unilever resources to ensure alignment to key priorities.
  • Network with decision makers both internally and externally across all sectors of the industry to expedite business acquisition.
  • Routinely interface and work effectively with multiple internal departments/personnel, plus senior level and customer personnel.
  • Deliver KPIs, Goals as a team.
  • Business Planning and Implementation.
