About The Position

This is a temporary position with a duration of nine months. The role is being phased out and is not eligible for benefits. Scheduled hours range from 18 to 29 per week, and overtime is not permitted. The part-time Circuit Welding Soldering Operator III is responsible for precision assembly and soldering/welding of small components in a high-quality, production-driven manufacturing environment. This role requires exceptional manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict production throughput and quality standards safely and consistently. The position involves repetitive tasks, extended periods of seated work, and continuous handling of small parts—often under a microscope and within extremely tight tolerances. To optimally contribute to overall production goals and operational excellence, the Operator must be dependable, punctual, and capable of following detailed written work instructions while working independently and collaboratively within a team.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
  • Must pass initial and subsequent background checks
  • Must pass preemployment and subsequent drug and alcohol screenings
  • Must comply with internal non-disclosure agreement requirements
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, and decimals)
  • Maintain Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives “Employee Possessor” eligibility
  • Basic computer literacy
  • 12+ consecutive years in a Circuit Welding Soldering Operator and/or Mechanical Electro Assembler role
  • RARE (less than 10%): crawling, climbing.
  • OCCASSIONAL (up to 33%): standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, body-twisting, reaching, range-of-motion, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, balancing, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • FREQUENT (up to 66%): walking, sitting, climbing on/off truck, reading, lifting up to 10 lbs, gripping, sense of touch, manual dexterity
  • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): speaking clearly, seeing distant, seeing, hearing-speech-range, depth-perception, color vision.
  • VISION: Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Near vision includes clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less to work with small objects or read small/fine print, including use of computers.

Responsibilities

  • Support Lean 5S initiatives to achieve a workplace that is clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity
  • Energetic/Mechanical assembly
  • Low frequency of heavy lifting (maximum weight 25lbs)
  • Ability to perform repetitive work

  • Must meet Capco attendance requirements

  • Must meet expected throughput of production goals
  • Maintain 100% minimum throughput
  • Maintain 3 or fewer reject tags per year
  • Ability to weld/solder small parts under a microscope for extended time periods
  • Ability to perform work with high level of detail to meet extremely tight tolerances consistently
  • Manual dexterity is a necessity
  • Continuous handling of small components or assemblies
  • Ability to repeat a process with a minimum First Time Quality rate of 95%
  • Must be able to perform work in a sitting position for long periods of time
  • Excellent hand/eye/foot coordination are necessary to perform this job
  • Must achieve Certified Operator status on at least two process
  • Provide Level I & II quality mentoring
  • All other duties as assigned
  • High frequency of gripping/reaching
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks
  • Must promptly communicate assembly problems/challenges to supervisor
  • Train / qualify on basic gages and visual criteria for assigned product line plus any special test equipment (e.g., helium leak detector)
  • Ability to operate 6 different parts on 2-3 different lines
