About The Position

The Circuit 9 Director of Adoption provides lead agency administrative oversight in Orange and Osceola Counties, ensuring strategic planning to achieve systematic improvement and efficiency. This position provides oversight and support to subcontracted partners who provide secondary adoption services to achieve performance improvement, ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements, and monitors outcomes and targets and deliverables in timely permanency. This position ensures evidence-based, evidence-informed, promising, and innovative practices in providing pre and post-adoptive support and participates in the 3rd tier on call rotation. The Circuit 9 Director of Adoption reports to the Case Management and Permanency Administrator.

Requirements

  • MA/MS - master's degree or equivalent required in human services related field preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in human services related field required.
  • LMHC/ LCSW preferred.
  • 5 years Management/Leadership experience required.
  • 8 years' Child Welfare experience required.
  • Adoption Competent required.
  • Valid Driver's License - Essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and approves adoption home studies and subsidy requests and submits to Information and Eligibility Team for approval.
  • Leads AARC meetings to provide consultation and assistance to adoption staff on any child-specific adoptive home study recommended for denial, competing families, or adoptive situations which present challenges.
  • Coordinate and lead MDT staffing for the purpose of adoption and complete the required documentation.
  • Facilitate monthly pre and post adoption review meetings to identify any challenges/barriers in the adoption finalization process and devise a plan of action through cadence of accountability.
  • Ensure agency's annual adoption targets are met/exceeded and complete Maintenance Adoption Subsidy (MAS) projections.
  • Ensures families meet eligibility criteria for GAP, access benefits initially and ongoing without any lapses.
  • Collects and aggregates data to evaluate trends, gaps, system performance, and diagnose areas where improvement is indicated.
  • Triage post adoptions support calls for increased subsidy, tuition letters, documentation, and guidance to Diversion for additional support and services.
  • Job performance requires fulfilling other incidental or related duties as assigned, assisting, and training others.
