About The Position

Ready to make some awesome content? We are looking for someone who loves to flex their creative muscles to make videos that bring a brand to life. We make people laugh, we make them cry, …but mostly we make them laugh. We entertain them to their core… And then do it all over again. As a Raindrop Cinematographer, you’ll be responsible for shooting fresh, on-brand visual assets covering a range of subject matter including; scripted comedy, product, lifestyle, person-on-the-street, vertical video sketches and more for all of the major social media platforms, streaming services via OTT, and occasionally the good old fashioned television. We are looking for someone who has honed their cinematography chops in diverse contexts, who can adapt their style to the personalities of the brands we partner with and create content that tells a compelling story, communicates value and captures attention. If you love immersing yourself into new worlds and using every tool in your belt to shape light and create an unforgettable moment then this role is for you! This role is primarily films at our indoor sound stages, requiring experience in creating realistic-looking environments within a studio setting. While experience in on-location and diverse styles of filming is a plus, we are looking for someone who can support the director's vision by building looks from scratch that supports the creative tone and vision.

Requirements

  • Flexible, and capable of working effectively in a dynamic environment
  • A roll-up-your-sleeves team player who is always open and receptive to feedback
  • Very organized and responsible with video equipment
  • Able to prioritize and multitask
  • Able to anticipate gear needs during pre-production
  • Always up-to-speed with the latest trends, big ideas, and innovations in cinematography, especially in commercial filmmaking
  • Ready to grow with our team and take your skills to the next level
  • 3-5+ years of professional cinematography experience
  • Comfortable operating different cinema cameras from Canon & RED
  • Good understanding of lighting techniques
  • Experience in safely operating lighting & grip equipment
  • Experience recording audio
  • Ability to flex hours -- Most filming is done between 8am-6pm M-F, but we do flex hours for certain shoots.
  • Current CA driver’s license and good driving record
  • Must be able to lift up to 30-45 lbs.
  • Based in San Diego.

Responsibilities

  • Support production teams on a wide range of projects
  • Running camera on small/medium-sized shoots without a 1st AC
  • Creating lighting diagrams and camera plots
  • Supporting crew on larger commercial shoots in a variety of roles (1st AC, Sound, Grip)
  • Maintaining and organizing the agency’s video production equipment
  • Upload footage to server for the editing team at the end of each filming day
  • Coordinating gear needs across multiple production teams
  • Renting & returning additional equipment as needed
  • Training junior level contractors on camera dept. and location sound responsibilities
