The Christmas Tree Farm Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Forest Society's 20,000-tree Christmas tree farm located at The Rocks in Bethlehem, NH. This farm has been a successful retail and wholesale operation since 1989, serving as a vital part of the community by engaging in recreational activities, educational programming, and tourism. The manager will ensure the successful planting, cultivation, sales, and overall operations of the 45-acre tree farm, focusing on implementing all aspects of the Christmas tree business. This role involves managing day-to-day farm operations, as well as assisting with property maintenance, trails, and grounds at The Rocks. The manager will also be responsible for hiring, training, and supervising seasonal staff, contractors, and suppliers, while collaborating with a larger team to support various activities and programs at the 1,500-acre property. In addition to managing the farm, the Christmas Tree Farm Manager will represent the Forest Society in various Christmas tree and farm organizations, such as the Christmas Tree Growers Association, and will attend regional conferences. Effective communication skills and the ability to positively interact with people are essential for this role. The position is full-time and year-round, with increased hours during peak seasons such as tree planting, harvesting, and Christmas sales.
