About The Position

A Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical Department delivers specialized, compassionate patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in an acute care setting. A Registered Nurse in the Obstetrics Department delivers acute and sub-acute obstetric, labor and delivery, post partum, and neonatal care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Effectively communicates with patients, patient's families, and other patient care team members to facilitate optimal patient outcomes, while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Establishes priorities for nursing action according to patient's needs and formulates appropriate care. Performs continuous assessments and revises care plans based upon patient's condition.

Requirements

  • Valid New York State RN License.
  • Must maintain BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification within six months of position start date.
  • PALS within one year of position start date.
  • CHMC Chemotherapy course within one year of position start date.
  • PMCS within orientation period.
  • NRP certification within orientation period.
  • Electronic fetal monitoring certification within one year of position start date.
  • Minimum one year prior medical/surgical experience.
  • Must complete twelve perifacts annually.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Ability to maintain quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to implement and support procedures and programs pertaining to patient safety and security.
  • Exhibit proficient communication skills.
  • Ability to sustain attention to detail and accuracy in monitoring and documentation.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
  • Ability to acknowledge changes in a patient's condition or behavior and report these changes.
