You will provide assistance to Chiropractic providers and other support staff in patient care and ensure quality health care is delivered in a timely fashion. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency required
  • Valid drivers license, a driving record meeting Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance required if needed for the employees specific location.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Chiropractic practice preferred
  • Minimum 1-year experience in community health center, or similar setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Mission of Meridian Health Services
  • Supports the providers in all duties to ensure quality health care is provided to all patients
  • Provides quality, efficient, and effective care to all patients
  • Communicates status of patients to incoming personnel, communicates with physicians regarding the care of patients, transcribes, clarifies and implements physicians orders
  • Responsible for initiating, supervising, delegating activities associated with patient treatment plan
  • Prepares equipment and assists physician during examinations and treatment
  • Performs appropriate telephone triage using established practice guidelines
  • Reviews patient medication lists
  • Notifies physician regarding any unusual or unexpected events or problems requiring direct medical consultation
  • Facilitates patient and family access to health care, school, and community resources including specialists, pharmaceutical assistance services, mental health and drug treatment programs
  • Writes progress notes on patients: charts or enters information in EMR, as appropriate, indication patient status and treatment procedures performed; maintains other records as required
  • Provides health education to patients and families
  • Assist in performing administrative duties including, but not limited to, answering phones, scheduling appointments, filing, faxing, copying patient medical records, and basic medical records maintenance
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educations programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops as needed
  • Collaborates with all team members to provide quality care
  • Complies with all federal and state laws as well as all Company policies, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Complies with all HIPAA rules, including but not limited to, the Privacy Rule, the Security Rule and the Breach Notification and Enforcement Rules
  • Assists in developing ideas and programs to reach more students and staff members at the local schools
  • Demonstrates ongoing professional growth through participation in relevant educational endeavors and appropriate associations
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested
  • Complies with all agency policies and procedures concerning corporate compliance including privacy of protected health information
  • Performs related work as required, and other duties as assigned
