About the position

The Chiropractic Tech position at Advocate Health involves assisting with all aspects of patient care under the direction of a Chiropractor. The role includes taking vital signs, observing and reporting patient conditions, performing treatment therapies, and maintaining the therapeutic treatment area. The position requires knowledge of patient care principles and the ability to assess and interpret patient data. The job is full-time, with a schedule of 80 hours per two weeks, Monday through Friday, with no nights, weekends, or holidays required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of patient care using appropriate techniques and procedures in therapy treatments.
  • Take patient's vital signs and observe and report patient signs and symptoms.
  • Perform proper medical record documentation and data entry.
  • Assist patients with disrobing into a gown, redressing, and getting on and off the exam table.
  • Perform treatment therapies such as hydrocollator packs, cryo therapy, ultrasound, and electric stimulation as directed.
  • Assist with therapeutic exercise of patients by reviewing and/or demonstrating prescribed exercises.
  • Order and dispense clean linen, gowns, and supplies, and assist with ordering and stocking of supplies.
  • Clean and maintain the therapeutic treatment area, treatment tables, rooms, and related equipment after use.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as answering telephones and assisting with billing processes.

Requirements

  • Chiropractic Technician license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless determined otherwise by the department leader.
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Chiropractic Technology.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
