We’re seeking a dynamic, hands-on Chip Seal Paving Foreperson to guide our skilled crew and drive the success of our construction and paving operations. In this pivotal role, you’ll combine leadership, problem-solving, and technical know-how to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient project completion. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ related experience in asphalt construction, paving, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Proven success supervising teams and/or leading traveling crews.
  • Strong leadership skills: ability to inspire, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication: skilled at building rapport, giving feedback, and resolving issues positively.
  • Commitment to integrity, safety, and quality—no shortcuts, only high standards.
  • Working knowledge of customer specifications to ensure projects are delivered right the first time.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible, non-traditional hours as projects require.
  • Professional, courteous, and adaptable—ready to represent our company with pride.

  • Experience with budget management is a plus—or a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a culture of safety—enforce all safety protocols and ensure the use of proper tools and equipment for every task.
  • Lead and supervise your crew, delegating tasks efficiently and fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
  • Support your team with hands-on work, including shoveling, raking, and safely guiding trucks during paving operations.
  • Oversee the preparation and placement of construction materials, as well as the setup and removal of traffic control devices.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and company leadership regarding safety concerns, project progress, and personnel matters.
  • Promote the company’s values and interests in all aspects of your work, ensuring professionalism and integrity at every step.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to ensure project success.
