About The Position

Chili's is looking for an HR Business Partner to support the Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, and Ohio areas. This position requires the candidate to reside in or be able to relocate to Detroit, Michigan or Indianapolis, Indiana. The PeopleWorks (HR) Business Partner will act as a strategic partner to regional leaders, embedding HR strategy into daily operations and providing professional HR guidance to internal client groups. The role is crucial in contributing to business strategy by helping leaders identify and build organizational capabilities, efficient structures, and processes, while driving key performance behaviors. The HR Business Partner will manage and improve human capital programs, including training and development, to achieve business results and enhance employee engagement. They will also develop plans for workforce growth that align with brand and company direction.

Requirements

  • Must reside in Detroit, Michigan or Indianapolis Indiana area or be able to relocate to Detroit, Michigan or Indianapolis, Indiana.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP) preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a multi-unit or field-based role within restaurant, retail, or hospitality industries.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and employee relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders.
  • Proactive, data-driven, and solutions-oriented with strong business acumen.
  • Willingness to travel regionally (up to 30-50%).
  • Experience supporting hourly workforce and high-growth operations.

Responsibilities

  • Build and implement long-term HR initiatives aligned with the strategic agenda and proactively identify new opportunities for HR to improve and add value to the business.
  • Manage the process for performance management & succession planning by facilitating all talent review meetings for all markets including Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, and Ohio.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to provide team members with development opportunities that align with current and future performance standards.
  • Work cross-functionally with broader HR teams to ensure effective HR strategies.
  • Partner with the regional recruiter to align staffing efforts with restaurant operational needs.
  • Support change management initiatives and help teams adapt to evolving business priorities.
  • Facilitate workshops aimed at enhancing team member engagement, retention, and recognition, aligning with development strategies to support business goals.
