About The Position

Our Children's department team has an exciting opportunity for you to become an integral part of a fast paced, growing company. If you are outgoing, responsible and passionate about working with children from 1-14 years then we have a job for you. This is a part-time position mainly with weekend hours and general responsibilities include: Hours: Hours vary based on program needs – program is open from 7:30 am – 9:00 pm SUMMARY: Responsible for the primary care and safety of children ages six weeks to 12 years.

Requirements

Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.
Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under ambiguous guidelines.
Previous experience working in a childcare setting

Nice To Haves

Degree in a related field preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Directly responsible for the primary care and safety of all children who are signed into the Playroom, Kid’s Corner or Ted’s Treehouse.
Responsible for reporting any and all safety concerns to the Manager on Duty ensuring that all concerns are properly addressed
Greet members with enthusiasm s they arrive, introducing yourself to each one.
Acknowledge when they both enter and leave the childcare areas.
Every member should receive a warm welcome and a fond farewell
Interact with the children at all times reading stories, singing songs, helping with socialization skills and imaginary play.
Follow the activity schedule that is given by your supervisor.
Hold babies; comfort them when they are upset.
If needed, change diapers, hold while potty training, wipe noses, and give bottles
Keep all areas clean and well maintained before opening, during open hours and at closing time.
Toys, tables, chairs, etc should be sanitized with disinfectant on a daily basis.

Maintain safety of other children by monitoring sick/unhealthy children in the child care areas
