About the position

At KidStrong, we help parents build stronger, smarter, more athletic kids. KidStrong is a milestone accelerator for kids walking through 11 years old. We help parents discover their child’s superpowers and build future-ready kids who are confident making friends running the playground and raising their hands high in the classroom. In other words… kids who will win at life! KidStrong Knoxville is rapidly growing, and we're looking for a talented, enthusiastic Childrens Coach who is passionate, energetic, and excited to engage with parents and kids and make an impact on their lives.

Responsibilities

  • Coach class sizes of 6 to 15 children, age groups range from roughly 12 months old to 11 years old
  • Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team
  • Ensure classes both start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum
  • Greet students as well as the parent(s)/guardian(s) individually prior to and at the beginning of class
  • Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading the class
  • Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises
  • Ensure cleanliness of the center, including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors
  • Effectively use the KS Coach’s App to record class data and provide records of data for parents
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, our company messaging system
  • Complete training through FranConnect as required by the HQ Training and Certification team
  • Work in a physically intensive environment, moving through class and lifting equipment up to 25 pounds
  • Assist parents of students ages three and younger with the direction and flow of a class
  • Attend monthly center staff programming meetings to receive training for next month's curriculum
  • Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by the KidStrong Director
  • Learn and manage Coach KidStrong Academy - special classes held by centers when local schools are not operating
  • Obtain certified status by the HQ Training and Certification team

Requirements

  • Passion for working with children is non-negotiable
  • Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age is preferred
  • Prior experience speaking to and educating parents on the KidStrong curriculum
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise techniques, and body mechanics
  • CPR certified
  • Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-starter who just gets a job done

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience as a pediatric OT/PT is a plus but not required
