About The Position

This position is responsible for: Plans, develops, implements and oversees the activities of creative arts programs and staff training strategies to grow creative arts programming and fee-based classes for the Kroc Center in four priority areas, music, arts, education and recreation. Researches, leads, and develops the curriculums and activities for all Kroc Center Camps, Child Watch, Ager School Services, Home school centered programs and events. Models' behaviors consistent with Salvation Army values and National Kroc Standard. Prepares documents, monitors corresponding budgets and forecasting. Collaborates with all departments across the Kroc Center to fulfill the goals and initiatives of the departments for which they are responsible as well as the Kroc Center and Area Command.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
  • Three years’ experience supervising a children’s program
  • Have an essential proficiency with Windows & Microsoft Office, which includes Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • The following certification will be acquired as directed by supervisor: Safe From Harm Certification First Aid and CPR
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.
  • Ability to lift, hold and carry infants and toddlers on a regular basis.
  • Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
  • Work is performed in a normal childcare environment where there are little physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, and oversees the activities of creative arts programs keeping the four priorities- art, education, recreation and music central to the whole of the programming and strategic vision.
  • Develop, implement and manage all curriculum and activities for Child Watch, Kroc Camps, and After School programming.
  • Develop and implements lesson plans which are age-group program specific: utilizes ag-group appropriate discovery areas including Bible study, enriched with program-specific activities, teacher made materials and hands-on activities.
  • Provide training to staff enabling them to carry out the curriculum and activities for their designated job assignments, including prioritizing positive customer service experience for members, participants, and guests.
  • Ensures the safety and protection of members and participants through training of staff, and enforcement policy, National Kroc Standards and protocols.
  • Assist in member retention through high quality and safe youth services.
