About The Position

Goldfish Swim School is looking for energetic and enthusiastic team members to join our cause: To teach children how to swim while making their experience golden . Job description: Goldfish Swim School instructors build the confidence of young children by teaching them a critical life skill. Our team makes learning to swim fun while using a proven curriculum that gets results. Instructors typically teach for 3-5 hours per shift and are scheduled the same days each week to build a rapport with students that helps build progress. There are no late nights and our shifts are perfect for anyone wanting a predictable schedule that allows you to enjoy other activities! Tropical Vibes & Impacting Lives! Each Goldfish Swim School is an independently owned and operated franchise. The respective Franchisee is the employer at each Goldfish Swim School location. Each franchisee can set their own wages, benefit programs and terms and conditions of employment, which may vary at each Goldfish Swim School location.

Requirements

Must be at least 15 years old
Ability to instruct swimming lessons (40 hours of paid training is provided.)
Knowledge of swim strokes
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Self-motivated team player with the desire to continuously improve through positive feedback and coaching
Available to work weekends
Must pass background check

Nice To Haves

Lifeguard certification is a plus (Goldfish certifies employees on-site and provides a $100 certification bonus.)

Responsibilities

Teaches swim lessons to children using Goldfish Swim School's proven, award-wininng curriculum
Coaches, motivates and supports children who are learning to swim
Provides continuous feedback to Deck Supervisors on swimmer progress and completes quarterly evaluations for students
Uses problem solving/creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter.
Develops positive relationships with swimmers and families
Ensures swimmer safety at all times
Sets up, organizes and puts away lesson equipment
Attends staff meetings, trainings and in-services as scheduled
Follows all Goldfish policies, rules and regulations including emergency and safety procedures
