About The Position

East Bank Club is seeking a dedicated and energetic Children’s Movement Instructor to lead engaging, age-appropriate fitness and movement classes for children ages 18 months to 12 years. This role is perfect for someone passionate about physical activity, wellness, and working with kids. The instructor will create a fun, supportive environment where children can build coordination, strength, and confidence through movement-based activities, including yoga, dance, tumbling, and general fitness exercises.

Requirements

  • Prior experience teaching children’s movement, fitness, yoga, dance, or tumbling required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage children of varying ages.
  • Highly reliable and punctual—we are looking for someone who consistently arrives on time and ready to teach.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in fitness, yoga, dance, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead dynamic movement classes tailored to different age groups, ensuring sessions are engaging, safe, and developmentally appropriate.
  • Creatively incorporate strength, balance, flexibility, and mindfulness in an age-appropriate way.
  • Be punctual and reliable, arriving on time and fully prepared to lead each class.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive class environment where all children feel welcome and encouraged to participate.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians about class progress and their child’s experience.
  • Collaborate with the Children’s Programs Manager to develop new class offerings and seasonal programming.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the studio and class equipment.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry children or equipment as needed.
  • Bending/Stooping: Capacity to bend, stoop, and kneel to attend to children and maintain a clean, safe play area.
  • Physical Endurance: Stamina for engaging in physical activities with children and ensuring safety over extended periods.
  • First Aid: Proficiency in administering basic first aid, such as applying bandages or ice packs.
  • Manual Dexterity: Skill in handling toys, craft supplies, and assisting with fine motor activities.
  • Reaction Time: Quick reflexes to respond swiftly to prevent accidents or manage conflicts.
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to supervise children and read safety protocols and activity plans effectively.
