About The Position

The Neonatal/Pediatric/NICU Transport RRT primarily works with high-risk newborn and pediatric patients in the Intensive Care Nursery and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The Respiratory Therapist may be required to interact with staff in outlying hospitals either as a member of the maternal child health transport team or as a regional referral center information source. This position is responsible for helping with transport coverage, including last-minute scheduling to ensure transport coverage at all times. In this role, the RRT acts as a role model, resource, and coach to the respiratory staff, physicians, and ancillary departments. The position is expected to integrate the respiratory care of the patient with other care providers to achieve desired results. Responsibilities also include the proper documentation of all patient records and department logs, as well as keeping abreast of technological advances in applicable areas and being well-versed in appropriate clinical applications.

Requirements

  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Board of Medical Examiners Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.
  • State of Nevada Point of Care Analyst license or equivalent required within 6 months of hire.
  • Current AHA BLS certification required.
  • AHA ACLS & PALS required within 6 months, and ongoing thereafter.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain necessary computer skills within 90 days.
