The Children and Family Program Supervisor develops, implements, facilitates, supervises and evaluates community programs including camps, Adventure Club and specialty programs. Reports to the Program Manager but also works closely with the Aquatics team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsible for researching, designing, planning, coordinating and evaluating educational opportunities and programs Facilitates, overseas and supervise summer camps, winter camps, spring camps including personnel, activities, safety and maintenance Creates and implements children’s programs including researching other organizations and programs Ensures the quality of all programs through training of employees, contracted staff and monitoring of facilities Ensures all children’s programs are in compliance with all AZ licensing requirements Serves as “Director” on childcare license which includes complying with appropriate staffing levels, ensuring all staff is licensed appropriately, creating daily schedule for camp, scheduling fieldtrips, scheduling guest speakers and working with accounting for payments and invoices Oversee Adventure Club including personnel, activities, safety and maintenance Creates and oversees special children’s programs and family activities which may include Father-Daughter Dance, Monster Ball, Mother-Son activities, Lunch Break, Valentines Dance, Cheer and Misc. Promote programs through proactive marketing and presentation to the public Collaborate with other departments to ensure positive public relations Input on the financial results of outlined areas of responsibility Works with managers on the fiscal budget, controls cost and generates revenue Helps prepare and analyze reports and public surveys relating to programs, attendance, program evaluation, interests, special events, etc. Orders and controls supply and equipment; maintains accurate inventory Works to ensure departmental and organizational goals and objectives are fulfilled In conjunction with Communications Department, prepares newsletters and brochures for programs Responsible for providing timely information to be included in each Activity Guide Ensures web portal contains current program information and announcements Helps manage various contracts for services Executes emergency action plans in the event of an emergency Performs first aid functions; provides emergency care until arrival of EMS Ensures programs are accurately entered into Civic Rec, both by entering in directly and/or supervising staff entering in the information Assists with staff meetings, addresses staff performance issues, completes performance evaluations and new hire orientations Schedules appropriate staff levels, reviews time off requests, and approves bi-weekly payroll for processing Consults with HR on escalated employee issues Confers with HR on payroll, worker’s compensation, safety and all other responsibilities related to human resource compliance Functions as Community Center Manager on Duty (MOD) on evenings and weekends as designated Performs work of those supervised as necessary Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are an essential function of this position Assists with special events outside of the normal work schedule Engage in active cross training with other Program Managers, as assigned by the Director, to cover responsibilities during absences Knowledge or experience in other sports or programs ideal Covers the Manager on Duty shift at least once per week for the community center
