About The Position

This internship Program provides structured, hands-on training in the field of early childhood education. The position is designed to build professional skills, support workforce readiness, and prepare interns for future employment in education, childcare, or human services. Interns will gain practical classroom experience while developing transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, cultural competence, and leadership. Interns will participate in a structured 8–12 week training program that combines classroom observation, hands-on practice, and professional mentorship. The program is designed to progressively build knowledge and skills: Orientation & Foundations Introduction to center policies, licensing requirements, and safety standards. Training on child development basics, classroom setup, and daily routines. Classroom Support & Instruction Assisting lead teachers with daily schedules and age-appropriate activities. Learning classroom management techniques and supporting group learning. Practicing activities such as storytelling, games, music, and creative play. Independent Practice with Supervision Supporting learning centers that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Observing and documenting children’s progress. Shadowing staff in family communication and reporting practices. Skill Development & Workforce Readiness Leading small group activities with staff oversight. Applying safety procedures, health standards, and sanitizing practices. Engaging in reflection, evaluation, and career development planning.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, equivalent, or current student in progress.
  • Interest in education, childcare, youth development, or a related human services field.
  • Patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for working with children.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new skills in a supportive environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (training may be provided).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating daily schedules and age-appropriate learning activities.
  • Learn to set up and maintain safe, engaging learning environments.
  • Support classroom instruction through stories, songs, games, and activities.
  • Gain experience in observing, documenting, and supporting children’s development.
  • Participate in team meetings, orientation, and professional development sessions.
