About The Position

The Childcare Specialist role at Samaritan Daytop Village is designed to provide onsite child care for resident children, following a prescribed curriculum. The work schedule for this role is from Friday to Tuesday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, making it an overnight position. The annual salary for this role is $41,000.00, which translates to $22.52 per hour.

Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the provision of child care services or preschool setting.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certificates.
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate children's activities.
• Ability to demonstrate good interpersonal skills to interact with co-workers, children, parents, etc.
• Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily activities as per the prescribed curriculum.
• Organize and participate in recreational activities.
• Instruct children in health and personal activities.
• Observe and monitor children's play activities.
• Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas.
• Support and encourage children's emotional and social development.
• Read to children and teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs.
• Serve beverages and snacks to children and regulate rest periods.
• Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring them to parents' or guardians' attention.
