About The Position
Care-O-World Early Learning Centers is looking for a Part-Time Kitchen Assistant to join our Washington center and help nourish the children we serve with care, creativity, and consistency.
Requirements
- High school diploma required (2-year culinary arts degree preferred)
- At least 2 years of food service experience , including cooking from raw ingredients
- Ability to pass a background check
- Positive references from previous employers
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of NC-DCDEE regulations
- Familiarity with USDA Child & Adult Care Food Program
- ServSafe Certification
- Child care food service experience
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks for children across classrooms
- Follow rotating menus and assist with food and supply planning
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation best practices
- Support food safety, allergy awareness, and substitutions in partnership with the Kitchen Lead and Center Director
- Follow all sanitation and food-service regulations
- Complete 10 hours (1.0 CEUs) of professional development annually
