About The Position

The Childcare Compliance Officer 1 position at the Arizona Department of Health Services involves ensuring compliance with regulations for licensed childcare facilities. Requirements

• Knowledge of federal regulations and Arizona Administrative Code related to licensed facilities.
• Good understanding of facility management and operational concepts.
• Skill in reviewing and interpreting professional literature and regulations.
• High level of oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data and provide compliance reports.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field preferred.
• Experience working in a licensed or regulated education setting.
• Experience working for a regulatory agency.

Responsibilities

• Assist with issuing licenses to childcare facilities and providers.
• Conduct initial and annual compliance inspections of regulated childcare facilities.
• Perform quality assurance activities by tracking documents and corrective actions.
• Conduct investigations upon receiving complaints about licensed or unlicensed facilities.
• Provide technical assistance to providers and consumers regarding state licensing requirements.
• Prepare investigation reports and statements of deficiencies related to inspections.
• Attend and participate in staff and stakeholder meetings.
• Conduct audits of records and public files.
