About The Position

Newton Child Development Center is seeking a reliable part-time cook to prepare nutritious breakfast and lunch for children ages infant through 5 years old. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking and wants a consistent daytime schedule with no evenings or weekends while working in a positive environment that supports young children. Pay: Starting at $11.00/hour, depending on experience Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Location: Newton Child Development Center , 1301 Grove St., Chattanooga, TN 37402

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check required for working in a childcare environment

Nice To Haves

• Experience with food preparation or cooking preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast and lunch according to the approved menu in a sanitary and timely manner
• Follow recipes and portion guidelines
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Wash and sanitize cookware, dishes, and utensils
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
• Order food and supplies as needed while following USDA nutrition program guidelines
• Assist with other kitchen-related tasks as assigned by the Site Director
