Job Summary In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting children (5 years of age - 12 years of age) to and from childcare center to assigned local schools and field trips. The Bus Driver ensures that the bus is regularly maintained, refueled, visual safety check to ensure safe for driving and conscientious about staying on schedule in a safe manner. In addition, driver must be able to enter and exit vehicle without assistance and withstand exposure to adverse weather conditions. Driver Responsibilities Driving a 14-passenger school bus and/or 6 passenger minivan. (No CDL Required). Potential Candidate should have previous driving experience and be comfortable with groups of children (5 years of age - 12 years of age). Driver must always wear safety bely assembly while driving and maintain appropriate management. Ensure that all passengers wear seat belts. Ensure each child's safety by maintaining vehicle functionality regularly and implementing safety procedures with the center Director. Comply with ODJFS state licensing guidelines and requirements regarding transportation. Assist in documentation for attendance and transportation services provided. Visually observe the health of each child on the bus. Ensure that no child is ever left unattended while on the bus. Ensure that each child is delivered to the care of a responsible adult upon leaving bus. Bus inspections, maintaining scheduled bus/van maintenance, and bus cleaning is required daily. Transport bus for servicing to mechanics and for routine oil change, state inspections and need repairs. Responsible for the morning (7:00a - 9:30a) and afternoon (2:30p - 4:30p) bus runs Monday through Friday.
