About The Position
Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation is an accredited, gold medal award-winning agency with over 45 full-time professionals and over 300 seasonal and part-time staff who provide the Lee's Summit community with dozens of quality recreational opportunities. EOE Employment at LSPR guarantees the opportunity to learn communication and organizational skills, professionalism, and civic responsibility while building outstanding personal and work relationships. $13.80/hourly Responsible for safety, well-being, and entertainment of children in the facility’s childcare area during hours of operation. Job Scope: No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supervises and monitors safety of children in the facility’s childcare area; interacts with children to enhance children’s experience. Ensures parents/guardians follow proper sign in and sign out protocols. Communicates with parents/guardians regarding participant experiences. Maintains safety and cleanliness of childcare area, toys and other related items; notifies management staff immediately of repair or replacement needs. Completes incident/accident reports promptly and completely and immediately reports any incidents, injuries, or accidents to management. Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings. Ensures enforcement of rules and regulations of LSPR. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to communicate with patrons professionally and respectfully
- Ability to analyze community needs, problem solve and implement solutions, and relate to the needs of all age groups
- Ability to establish good working relationship with public, subordinates and supervisors
- Ability to maintain self-control and composure and set a professional example for the staff and participants
- Ability to understand, analyze and implement ideas and concepts
- Skills in communications and providing exceptional patron service
Nice To Haves
- Basic First Aid and CPR/AED preferred
