About The Position

Make a Difference Before and After the School Bell Rings! Healthy Kids Programs is hiring Childcare Assistants for our Before and After School Program at Penn-Bernville Elementary School in Bernville, PA for the 2025–2026 school year. JOB STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt LOCATION: Penn-Bernville Elementary School in Bernville, PA PAY: $13.50 - $14.50 per hour HOURS: 7:00 - 8:35 am & 3:20 - 6:30 pm Featured Benefit: Employer-Paid Childcare Healthy Kids Programs provides childcare for school-age children (ages 5–12) enrolled in program on the days and during the hours you work. Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 or more years of experience working with children under 13
  • Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
  • Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
  • Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the facilitation of hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic enrichment, art, and group activities
  • Assisting students with homework
  • Providing a safe, healthy, clean, and fun environment
  • Serving as a positive role model for children in the program
  • Arriving prepared and remaining on-site until the last child is dismissed
  • Communicating daily with parents and families via the Playground App
  • Following state regulations, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies
  • Supporting attendance tracking, registration, and staffing as needed
