The Goddard School of State College is seeking candidates for a full-time Assistant Teacher. Candidates will help create a caring, nurturing, and safe environment for the children and assist in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. Requirements

  • Shows empathy and compassion for young children
  • Is dependable and adaptable and enjoys working together toward a common goal
  • Experience working with children in a childcare, daycare, volunteer or babysitting setting for Assistant Teachers.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
  • For Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
  • All candidates must have a desire to work with children and families, be committed to professional development, and be a team player.
  • Candidates will be required to obtain the following: Health Assessment and TB Test FBI/Fingerprint Clearance Child Abuse Clearance Criminal Background Clearance Mandated Reporter Training

Nice To Haves

  • A degree or certificate (CDA) in early childhood, elementary education, related human services field or early childhood coursework is preferred for Lead Teachers.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Plan learning activities within established classroom centers.
  • Implement prepared lessons and activities in small and large group settings throughout the program day.
  • Assist children with managing all parts of the program day including transitions between activities, meals, toileting/diapering & washing hands, structured activities, etc.
  • Establish positive and effective family relations through interactive parent communication.
  • Ensure compliance with Goddard’s Industry-leading Quality Assurance standards
