About The Position

Job Summary: Provide Prenatal instruction to community members on behalf of Community Health Education, Chandler Regional Medical Center and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center Essential Functions: Facilitates class according to designated curriculum. Be thorough in presenting non-biased information and explaining risks and benefits as indicated. Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to class for set-up. Instruction will be conducted in a non-biased manner with a focus on addressing the risks, benefits and alternatives for care, when indicated. Answers participant's questions and concerns with accurate and current information to the best of your knowledge. If research is needed, consult with education coordinator within 48 hours for consultation. Call participant back as needed. Active member of committee(s) or collaborative teams as required by duties. Uses appropriate teaching tools for class. Ensures room is picked up after class, including returning supplies to storage. Participates in development activities to support the individual unit/department. Demonstrates the ability to effectively work with various end users to effectively provide the needed information and training

Requirements

  • Two (2) years RN Maternal Child Health experience or national certification for Childbirth Education or successful completion of Breastfeeding Counselor course (for Art of Breastfeeding Class) preferred
  • Experience with instruction and/or facilitation in a community setting
  • Current AZ RN license

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Breastfeeding Counselor (CBC) or Certified Childbirth Educator - ACBE (CCE-ACBE) or Certified Childbirth Educator - CCE PCE (CCE-PCE) or Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE)
