Job Summary: This role provides educational programs to parents, children and families for Franciscan Health Systems. Courses are primarily related to childbearing year and family education such as parenting classes. Course curriculums are generally pre-developed and educators are expected to adhere to course content. Incumbent may teach classes as a primary or fill-in instructor as needed.

Requirements

  • One year of work experience in Adult Education, plus one year of recent work experience in assigned course topic areas that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities required.
  • For Childbirth Educators: Completion of Childbirth Education course by accredited institution/organization.
  • For Childbirth Educators: International Certification as a Childbirth Educator by ICEA, Lamaze, or CAPPApreferred.
  • For CPR/Infant Safety Educators: American Heart Association (AHA) Certified Instructor required.
  • For Infant Massage Educators: Current Washington State License as Massage Practitioner OR Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI) required.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the delivery of current, evidenced-based content through teaching/leading in-person educational offerings.
  • Adheres to established and approved course curriculums.
  • Assesses and meets individual student needs and learning goals as related to course content.
  • Uses course equipment, course materials and audio/visual aids to provide optimal presentation and educational impact.
