About The Position

This position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Child Welfare Specialist IV - H23D Annual Salary: $52,217.89 + Full State Employee Benefits Applicants who possess a Master's Degree in Social Work will be entitled to a salary incentive of an additional 5%. On-call positions will receive an additional bonus ranging from $100 to $150 every two weeks, depending on responsibilities. Travel is Occasional. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance. Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree plus one year of experience in professional social work in child welfare programs. OR a Bachelors Degree plus two years experience as a Child Welfare Specialist OR Three years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist. Job Responsibilities Position serves as a Court Liaison at the Juvenile Justice Center, coordinating services between Child Welfare and the Juvenile Court System. Ensure assigned caseworkers are informed of their court dates. Confirm timely submission of all required court reports, documents, and information relevant to each family’s case. Accurately represent DHS’s position in court, based on the assigned social work team’s recommendations and clinical decisions. Mediate concerns or conflicts between the judiciary and local DHS teams. Communicate and engage with families prior to their court hearings. Documents court minutes during all deprived and dually adjudicated court proceedings. Processes and files pick-up orders, and medical consents. Also processes and files reports to District Attorneys, court dockets, and court reports. Assists Assistant District Attorneys, Public Defender and DHS Legal offices with requests. OKDHS is a Fair Chance Employer. This is a position in the Oklahoma Civil Service. Requirements

  • Master's Degree plus one year of experience in professional social work in child welfare programs.
  • OR a Bachelors Degree plus two years experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
  • OR Three years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.
