Responsibilities

  • Assist professional staff in providing child welfare services to clients.
  • Instruct clients in improved standards of housekeeping, shopping, personal hygiene, and childcare.
  • Transport clients to clinics, doctors' offices, or other service locations.
  • Lift or assist clients with personal belongings and medically needed equipment.
  • Observe and report clients' behavior to professional staff.
  • Monitor family visitation between caretakers and children.
  • Prepare narrative reports and maintain visitation logs as required.
  • Schedule and arrange client transportation for follow-up visits.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to defuse potentially dangerous situations.
  • Complete various forms and reports.
  • Secure preliminary social and health history information for professional evaluation.
  • Maintain state vehicle and documentation.
