About The Position

This position has the on-going responsibility for the following in Region 6: 1. Provides Child Welfare Practice and Policy interpretation, guidance and technical assistance to county Child Welfare staff, county leadership and county directors. 2. Working with the county in improving their program and directing the CQI process. 3. Monitoring, training, and providing or arranging technical assistance to the county child welfare program. 4. Review of case records. 5. Review of data related to performance measures and other metrics. 6. Building professional relationships to improve outcomes for adults, children and families while remaining in compliance with federal regulations, North Carolina General Statutes, and Administrative Rules and policies. 7. Each Specialist will serve a region of 14-16 counties. (Bladen, Brunswick, Carteret, Columbus, Craven, Cumberland, Duplin, Jones, Lenoir, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pender, and Sampson Counties):

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a discipline relative to the program from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in a discipline relative to the program area from an appropriately accredited institution and six years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising North Carolina child welfare programs, applying statutes, rules, policies, and best practices to provide guidance, consultation, and technical assistance to county child welfare staff.
