About The Position

The Family Assessment Intervention and Response Program involves community-based case work with families referred by child welfare to assess for safety and provide resources to children and their families. The role includes investigating all allegations of child abuse, dependency, and neglect, monitoring and assessing the safety and wellbeing of all the children in the home, and referring families to community-based services if warranted. Adherence to the fidelity of program model, principles, and practices is essential, along with maintaining an assigned caseload. Timely documentation in the agency database system (i.e. assessments, service plans, safety plans, case notes, discharge plans) and other required records must be maintained in accordance with agency, state accreditation, and other requirements, policies, and procedures. The position requires being on-call on rotation and involves travel primarily within the county/counties assigned, with some statewide travel required for training and on-call.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field, required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field, preferred.
  • Experience in child welfare, preferred.
  • Previous job or student placement experience in child welfare, family serving agency, or community based agency, preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends while on-call, required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of computers and applications.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to the cultural differences present among the agency’s service population.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, which meets the requirements of the agency’s insurance carrier and reliable transportation.
