About The Position

The Child Watch Attendant / Membership Services Representative plays a key role in creating a welcoming, supportive experience for Kroc Center members and families. This position supports the day-to-day operations of the Welcome Desk while also providing nurturing, engaging supervision for children in our on-site Child Watch program. The ideal candidate delivers outstanding customer service, communicates clearly and confidently about programs and services, completes necessary desk transactions, and creates a safe, fun environment where children can learn and play while parents participate in Kroc activities. Flexibility is important for this role, with primary shifts scheduled Monday–Thursday from 3:00–8:00 PM, Fridays from 3:00–7:00 PM, and every other Saturday between 6am - 6pm and every other Sunday. This position works up to 18 hours per week with a pay range of $15.96-$16.61 per hour depending on the role worked. An additional $1.00 per hour shift differential is added for all shifts worked from 4:00 PM Friday through Sunday. SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Child Watch Attendant will be responsible for the nurture and supervision of all children participating in the temporary on-site care offered by the Kroc. The Child Watch Attendant will develop activities to entertain, teach, and mentor young children while their parents / guardians participate in Kroc programs and events. The Membership Services Representative’s primary responsibilities are the execution of the day to day operations and workflow of the Welcome Desk and to deliver high quality customer service at all times. This individual must be knowledgeable on facility programs, able to communicate that knowledge effectively, and be able to complete the necessary paperwork and computer transactions associated with Welcome Desk functions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of one year customer service experience, including cash-handling.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and have 1 year of relevant work experience with children.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • First Aid, CPR and AED Certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess an energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor.
  • Demonstrated sales and closing skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and adapt comfortably to continuous changes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Exceptional Customer & Participant Service
  • Provide friendly, accurate, timely, and confidential support to all members, parents/guardians, children, and visitors. Communicate program and facility information clearly and professionally.
  • Supervise and Engage Children
  • Patiently oversee multiple children at once, maintain enthusiasm, and create an engaging environment through age‑appropriate individual and group activities.
  • Maintain Safety and Cleanliness
  • Ensure a safe environment for all staff, participants, and members. Support the cleaning and sanitizing of toys, equipment, and workspace areas, including the Welcome Desk and Fun Depot.
  • Process Payments & Administrative Tasks
  • Accurately collect and record fees and information for memberships, day passes, gift cards, classes, rentals, and other services in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Manage Phone & In‑Person Inquiries
  • Direct incoming phone calls to the appropriate departments, provide routine information, and escalate issues to supervisors or the Manager on Duty when necessary.
  • Support Membership Growth & Retention
  • Provide effective facility tours to prospective members and contact current members to secure updated payment information to prevent membership lapses.
  • Maintain Organized Work Areas
  • Keep the Welcome Desk stocked, organized, and equipped with up‑to‑date materials, forms, and retail items.
  • Respond to Challenging Situations Professionally
  • Address conflicts or concerns involving members, children, or parents with speed, tact, fairness, and professionalism.
