About The Position

Your role at BHSN: The Adult Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for providing education and training to individuals with serious mental illness and working with these clients to develop their problem-solving skills, enhance self-esteem, and build relationship skills to enhance the recovery of the individual. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm with one day from 11:00am to 7:00pm

Requirements

Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience working with individuals with SUD disorders and/or Mental Health diagnoses
Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation required for local and regional travel

Nice To Haves

An Associate's degree in behavioral science or Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related mental health field is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Identifies healthy community opportunities for individuals to socialize and interact; promote these opportunities as directed by the care team
Assist and support psycho-educational activities and conduct groups to teach consumers about mental health, wellness, self-help in a recovery-based approach
Transports clients to and from appointments as needed; provides child minding services for consumers int the agency lobby only as needed so client can participate in treatment services
Understands Crisis Team policy and procedure manual, Agency and regulatory policies and procedures
Additional duties as assigned
