About The Position

The CNP Warehouse Specialist is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of food and supplies to school sites, receiving and organizing warehouse inventory, maintaining accurate inventory records, and performing basic maintenance on kitchen and warehouse equipment. This position supports the overall effectiveness and compliance of the Child Nutrition Program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance and repair, inventory management, food handling procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record required.
  • Demonstrated ability in inventory tracking, time management, organization, food handling, and distribution.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Child Nutrition Program, district, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain adherence to USDA, health department, and established food safety standards.
  • Safely transport and deliver food and supplies to assigned school sites.
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures at all times and maintain any required food handler certification in accordance with district, state, and local health regulations.
  • Receive, stock, and distribute incoming and outgoing freight in an organized and timely manner.
  • Maintain and organize warehouse storage areas, including freezer and refrigeration units.
  • Ensure commodities are properly dated, stored, and distributed in accordance with USDA requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date warehouse inventory records.
  • Monitor and document temperature controls; promptly report any concerns or equipment malfunctions.
  • Respond to and communicate with alarm services regarding activated alarms as required.
  • Provide support at school sites as needed by serving as a substitute food service worker or cashier.
  • Ensure accuracy of deposits and compliance with district and site-level financial procedures.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and routine upkeep of assigned delivery vehicles.
  • Perform minor maintenance, painting, and basic repairs in kitchens and warehouse facilities.
  • Research equipment and supply needs and provide recommendations to the Child Nutrition Director.
  • Assist with district maintenance and upkeep projects during summer months as assigned.
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and site staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or Child Nutrition Director.
