Assume responsibilities in the food preparation and/or cashier duties as directed by the Child Nutrition Manager and/or designee. Follow and perform routine food preparation and service to ensure a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of the cafeteria operations. Adhere to federal and state laws, as well as, district policies, procedures, and regulations. Essential Functions Assist in the food preparation and cashier as assigned. Operate large and small kitchen equipment after receiving instructions. Clean and sanitize work area and kitchen equipment. Serve meals on service line after receiving instructions as to portion sizes. Follow assigned cleaning and maintenance schedules and campus attendance procedures. Perform routine cleaning to include cleaning and sanitizing floors, work area and kitchen equipment, as assigned. Ability to perform basic math. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to operate equipment and perform job duties to include lifting, climbing, etc.; comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash and food products. Wash pots and pans and complete general clean up. Unpack supplies and assist with stacking dry storage and refrigeration shelves. Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, integrity, cooperation and efficient use of time in the performance of assigned duties. Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions. Attendance at the work site is required to meet essential functions of the job. Other Responsibilities Participate in professional development activities as required by the district. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties; support district/department goals. Maintain a professional code of ethics and perform other duties as assigned.
