The Child Nutrition Cafeteria Manager is responsible for supervising and working in all areas of kitchen operations, including sanitation, food preparation, serving, receiving, clean up, and supervisory roles. The primary goal is to improve and/or maintain the health of the students in a pleasant and productive manner.

  • Direct, plan and assist in the preparation of quality food utilizing the menus and standardized recipes provided.
  • Cashier and identify reimbursable meals accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Properly use and care for equipment.
  • Prepare and serve food in compliance with departmental, city, state and USDA policies and procedures.
  • Utilize daily instruction sheets to assign tasks for employees.
  • Reconcile money and prepare the bank deposit daily.
  • Maintain a clean and organized office area with all production records and daily reports filed by month in hanging folders.
  • Review timesheets online and make corrections.
  • Ensure all employees submit their timesheets weekly.
  • Ensure all HACCP forms are completed daily and filed in monthly file folder.
  • Participate in cost-effective use of resources.
  • Supervise employees to enforce city health department and Coppell I.S.D. guidelines for sanitation and safety.
  • Perform and train the staff in all areas of the kitchen operation.
  • Conduct inventory and place all orders in a timely manner on or before scheduled due dates.
  • Complete production records daily.
  • Report employee absences to central office daily.
  • Report maintenance and technology issues to the Child Nutrition office in a timely manner.
  • Maintain personal appearance and hygiene.
  • Promote teamwork.
  • Follow all recipes and production records.
  • Supervise and assist in daily cleaning of all areas of the kitchen.
  • Ensure leftovers are properly stored, labeled and dated according to city health department guidelines.
  • Interact and cooperate with school principal and faculty.
  • Assist in all areas of the kitchen operations as needed.
  • Adhere to CISD Child Nutrition dress code.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work well with others and follow directions.
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Ability to cashier and make change.
  • Ability to plan, direct, correct and supervise employees.
  • Can perform job assignments and comply with district policies and procedures.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to extremes in temperature, chemicals and moisture.
  • Can lift and carry up to forty pounds unassisted.
  • Depth perception and peripheral vision are required.
  • Ability to perform in stressful situations.
  • Must have and maintain good customer service skills.
  • Dependable, reliable, prompt, cooperative.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Previous Supervisory Experience Required.
  • National School Lunch Program Experience Preferred.
  • Cashier and Customer Service Experience Preferred.
  • Computer Experience.
  • Food Protection Management certificate required for professional growth.
