About The Position

The Child Nutrition Associate at Duneland School Corporation plays a vital role in providing safe and lawful food services to students and staff. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to deal tactfully and effectively with persons at all levels.
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly and assimilate into daily work.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the use of all Food Services equipment and supplies.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and offer solutions to problem situations related to daily work.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during times of high stress.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to requests for information and services in a prompt, efficient, and friendly manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, community members, teachers, co-workers, and other staff members.
  • Observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly.
  • Attend all in-service training and accept delegated authority.
  • Assist in the preparation of breakfast and lunch meals that comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain and clean cafeteria equipment to meet local, state, and federal sanitation standards.
  • Attend sanitation training and obtain ServeSafe Certification.
  • Clean and sanitize pots, pans, and lunch trays.
  • Clean student cafeteria tables and serve breakfast and lunch to students and staff.
  • Ensure students receive a reimbursable meal and perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
