About The Position

The Child Life Specialist provides a variety of recreational programs and activities to pediatric patients and families to promote emotional health and optimal development. This role implements psychosocial interventions that foster emotional, developmental, and cognitive growth of children and adolescents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Child Life or closely related fields.
• Master's Degree - HIGHLY PREFERRED
• Minimum two (2) years utilizing Creative Arts Therapy/Child Life services with children/adolescents in a medical setting.
• Prior experience with pediatric population
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
• Child Life Certification by Child Life Certifying Committee, including successful completion of full-time internship in a pediatric healthcare setting under the supervision of a Certified Child Life Specialist.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in computer that may include but not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite Platforms
• Interviewing skills.
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal skills.
