About The Position

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely. As a group therapist, you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidenced based groups using modalities like CBT, DBT, and ACT. We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients. Based in Chicagoland, we serve hundreds of patients every day, ranging from ages 5 through adulthood, in our onsite facilities or through our flourishing virtual programming. Requirements

  • 1+ years of post master’s experience preferred
  • Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Prefer a candidate that holds the following licenses or certifications or will require supervision towards: LCSW, LCPC, LPC, LSW, PsyD, or PhD
  • Have prior experience working in partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient program
  • Have prior experience treating the following: Depression/mood disorders Anxiety Disorders OCD

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing DBT/CBT skill groups
  • Providing crisis intervention and staff support, as needed
  • Facilitate group-based interventions in collaboration with other team members
  • Co-facilitating creative expression and other experiential therapeutic groups
  • Assisting program director in supporting families through phone coaching and follow-up calls
  • Checking in with treatment team about changes and progress for individual patients
  • Providing clinical observations and insights during interdisciplinary meetings
  • Providing individual support to patients, as needed
  • Providing support to other team members in various treatment groups
  • Providing guidance and support for milieu staff during skills and executive functioning therapy activities/instruction
  • Participating in discharge planning for patients
