About The Position

The Child/ Family Liaison provides counseling to Stone House residents to address clinical issues Win families encounter that impact self-sufficiency. The Child /Family Liaison meets with families, conducts individual sessions, makes referrals to community resources, and actively participates in clinical team meetings at Stone House.

Requirements

  • Commitment to Win’s Mission, vision, and values.
  • LMSW and two (2) years of successful practical experience working with at-risk children or displaced families required.
  • Knowledge of services for homelessness families, child welfare services, domestic violence intervention services and substance abuse required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Must be able to ascend/descend 8 flights of stairs if necessary.
  • Must be able to escort clients to appointments as needed including college tours, mental health, and other social service appointments as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with homeless teens and young adults a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with potential providers of mental and medical health services.

Responsibilities

  • Engage children and families in counseling through outreach, education, and individual sessions.
  • Create ongoing parenting skills workshops and healthy relationship building workshops for Stone House clients.
  • Provide clients with college application and financial aid resource information.
  • Organize and attend college tours and college fairs with clients.
  • Establish relationships with local health and mental health providers, refer clients, and follow up as needed.
  • Use, champion, and model the use of Evidence Based Practices (EBP), promote Trauma Informed Care (TIC) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
  • Work closely with Stone House staff members to incorporate best practices for the engagement and support of the families.
  • Conduct weekly follow-up sessions with clients and maintain up-to-date documentation of all services provided.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
